The intention is that the research and developmentwork should take place in creative labs rather than in the atmosphereof a technical laboratory. In a studio-like or residentialatmosphere. The protective, sheltering atmospheres often created forbabies, for whose needs this company develops products, isconsciously used as a source of inspiration.
We see the lounge as the “centre of life” of the MAM team. Here people can meet, sit, eat, read and chill.
Constructive articulation
The two floor slabs are planar load-bearingstructures built of reinforced concrete. They are strengthened byupstand or downstand beams, which form a beam grillage allowing theloads to be combined and transferred at points to the few reinforcedconcrete columns. The number of columns is parametrically minimised. They are positioned so that they compromise the flexibility, opennessand fluidity of the space as little as possible. The roof isextensively planted and carries a mix of solar panels andphotovoltaic elements.
Functional articulation
While the parking area follows the natural slopeof the site, you reach the building on foot via a horizontal walkwaythat is led along the western boundary of the site. Having enteredthe building you find the reception desk on the right and on the leftis a small patio with the stairs leading to the roof, intended laterfor the vertical circulation (it is left up to the client to decidewhether the lift should be built during the first constructionphase.) The foyer leads directly to the group of three meeting roomsplaced around the internal courtyard and then to the lounge that isadjoined by a tea kitchen.
